Dynamic effect of disintegrated energy consumption and economic complexity on environmental degradation in top economic complexity economies

The current paper explores the influence of disintegrated energy and economic complexity on CO2 emissions (CO2) in top economies. model also incorporates other drivers CO2, such as technological innovation growth. research utilizes data stretching from 1993 to 2018. employed Westerlund cointegration, fully modified OLS (FMOLS), dynamic (DOLS), method moments quantile regression (MMQR) evaluate these interconnections. outcomes slope heterogeneity cross-sectional dependence affirmed use second-generation techniques. study confirmed long-run association between regressors. results MMQR disclosed that each (0.1–0.90), renewable enhances quality environment, while nonrenewable intensify CO2. In addition, environment 0.1–0.70 quantiles, 0.80–90 intensifies EKC is validated (0.1–0.90). DOLS, FE-OLS, FMOLS affirm outcomes. These encourage policymakers implement holistic environmental policies prioritize greener production processes for reasons meet United Nations SDGs 7, 8, 13, 17.
